Week 10 - The Stanley Parable

ElfenLied
2014-05-01 16:58:22
Ladies and Gentlemen,

this week, we will have the the winner’s matches as well as the loser’s matches in our Up&Down groups. The loser of the winner’s match and the winner of the loser’s match will then compete against each other for the last remaining seed. It is again a little bit sad that we had so many walkovers last week, especially since the up&down matches normally consists of the most active and motivated players from the group stage. Please tell me if you see any solution to that trend…

Starting map this week is Tal'Darim Altar LE.

Week 9 – Tale of the Easter Zergling

ElfenLied
2014-04-17 15:35:24
Ladies and Gentlemen,

On Easter morn at early dawn,
before the roosters were crowing,
I met a bob-tail Zerglingkin
and asked where he was going,
“Tis in the house and out the house
a-tipsy, tipsy toeing,
Tis round the house and 'bout the house
a-lightly I am going.”

He perked his ears and winked his eye
and twitched his little nose;
He shook his tail- what tail he had-
and stood up on his toes.
“I must be gone before the sun;
The East is growing gray;
“Tis almost time for bells to chime.”
So he hippety-hopped away.

Last week, we finished your group stage and the Up&Down groups are now up and running. Sadly I have to say the last group stage round was not as thrilling as I was hoping for as many players had to forfeit due to different reasons. Since we fell short one player in Code S, Ferdia was the lucky one who received a wildcard for the Up&Down matches. So here are the players who qualified for the next round:

Code S playoffs (Bo5s)
Sohel; IamValkyr; misterxy1994; Humpen

Up&Down Groups for Code S (Bo3s)
S: Stahlbolzen;
A Zerus: Maulwurf; Lelouch; Morswin;
A Mar Sara: Pajo; kaOz; GentleGiant; Moe; Terric; jaedon; ICEMAN; Ferdia

Up&Down Groups for Code A (Bo3s)
A Zerus: XPA; ElfenLied;
A Mar Sara: hills; RealZeratul; SluttyMagoo; StarBuck; eXiTWounDz;
B: TeaTimePrime; blue; MrJames; Tristen; Spike; Caladan; RayBeans; Bloody; Puyo

Starting map for all matches is KeSPA Out boxer
and you have time to play till Tuesday, 29-04-14@ 11:59pm CET. So 1 1/2 weeks from now.

I wish you best of luck and of course have fun ;).

Week 8 - Chasing Summer

ElfenLied
2014-04-10 16:03:43
Ladies and Gentlemen,

this is the final week of the group stage and hence your last chance to secure yourself a spot in our up&down matches. There might be a slight change in the distribution of seats due to the low number of players in Code A group Zerus. Nevertheless, starting map for this important week is Yeonsu LE.

Also please remember that you need to be present this week by either playing your game, posting a comment in the game thread or sending me a PM. Otherwise I cannot be sure whether you will be available for your up&down matches or not.

Greetings, Your OPSL Team

Week 7 – Dawn of a million souls

ElfenLied
2014-04-02 23:34:24
Ladies and Gentlemen,

here we are, week 7! Only two more weeks to go and as it is tradition in the next-to-last week, you will be able to switch the starting map to our fun map. Starting map this weeks is Daedalus Point LE, however, if both players agree, you are also allowed to play New Polaris Rhapsody GhLight Edition (not the normal New Polaris Rhapsody map with gameheart mod).

Also, I would like to remind you that WCS America will take place this weekend, April 5-6 in Cologne. Entrance is free. The weekend after that, WCS Europe will be hold in Cologne as well.

Week 6- Week of Snute!

ElfenLied
2014-03-27 16:42:59
Ladies and Gentlemen,

in week 6, I would like to present to you the requirements and rules for the playoffs as well as the up&down groups. I have to admit, this was not an easy task since we had quite some drop outs and two very unevenly distributed Code A groups. So here we go:

-One important rule is, you need to participate in the last two weeks of the group stage, or at least post a comment in our game thread/ send me a message that you won’t be able to play (do not simply put yourself on away mode).

-- Disappearing in the last week without notifying anyone might cost you your playoff/ up&down spot! --

There will be playoffs for Code S and Up&Down groups for Code S - Code A and Code A - Code B. We currently have 8 active players in Code S, 8 players in Code A group Zerus, 16 players in Code A group Mar Sara and 20 players in Code B. From these numbers, the allocation of spots reads as follows:

-------------Code S...Code A1...Code A2...Code B...Groups
Players............8............8..............16..........20.................
Playoffs...........4..............................................................
U&D S-A.........2............3...............7....................=...3....
U&D A-B.........0............2...............5.............9.....=....4...

The top 4 Code S players will battle it out in the Code S Playoffs, single elimination, Bo5.

There will be 3 Up&Down groups for Code S - Code A with 12 players (2Code S, 3 Code A Zerus, 7 Code A Mar Sara).

And we will have 4 Up&Down groups for Code A - Code B with 16 players (2 Code A Zerus, 5 Code A Mar Sar, 9 Code B).

I wish you best of luck. Oh, and by the way, starting map this week is Shakuras Plateau LE ;).

Week 5 – This is for the fallen

ElfenLied
2014-03-20 15:04:02
Ladies and Gentlemen,

Week 5, this means half-time here at the OPSL! After somewhat of a rocky start our league is finally picking up steam and it is time to congratulate the players currently in first place:

Code S: IamValkyr 4-0
Code A Mar Sara: Pajo 4-0
Code A Zerus: Lelouch 4-0
Code B: TeaTimePrime 4-0

Starting map for the fifth week is Frost LE. I also hope you liked our last week’s starting map Tal’darim and consider playing it more often. The map is really still capable of delivering some excellent Starcraft matches. ;-)

2014-03-13 12:30:04
Ladies and Gentlemen,

here we are, week 4! It is now time to introduce the first old school map and see what swarm hosts and tempest are able to achieve here. So betake yourself to our lovely Tal'Darim Altar LE starting map, may your battle be long and epic.

It is a four player map with all starting positions enabled. There are no rocks at our third base. If you would like to take a closer look at the map, I highly recommend the code B match Tumble vs Honeai:

Week 3 – RoadHouse !

ElfenLied
2014-03-06 13:17:50
Ladies and Gentlemen,

this week, we will have the great pleasure to test one of Korean ProLeagues best maps,

King Sejong Station.

The architecture of this map is quite unique, so I would suggest you give it a try before you play your important OPSL match ;-).

Also, I would like to encourage you to contact your opponent as soon as possible and actively try to find a suitable time spot for your game. I know last week was difficult due to carnival; however this will make it much easier for you and also safe me a lot of time since I don’t like having to chase after people to play their matches :(.

Ladies and Gentlemen,

We passed week 1 which was somehow a tutorial and I hope you are now a little bit more familiar with our league system and the way games work. Starting map for this week is

Habitation Station LE.

You can now start to contact your opponent and play your games, good luck and happy Carniling!

Ladies and Gentlemen,

this is a gentle reminder for all players who have yet to contact their opponents. Please sent me a PM or post a comment in your game thread and let me know if you wish to participate in our next round.

Also, please remember to upload your replays as we might consider replay casts. If you would like to improve your play and get your games casted, please send a PM to me or a caster and we will try to recast these games.

Greetings, Your OPSL Team
